Join us!

We couldn't do what we do without our volunteers. Whether you can give us an hour or a whole weekend, your time can make a real difference to Refuweegee and the thousands of people who come through our doors each week. Our volunteering opportunities are subject to change depending on what we need and when people are available. If you'd like to find out what we're currently looking for or find out more, email us at volunteering@refuweegee.co.uk .

We also run regular volunteer socials at our George Square HQ. These are a great way to meet the team and get to know the space before you volunteer. We encourage everyone to come and spend some time in the space first, as you'll get a better feel for Refuweegee and what volunteering here is like.

We regularly run events at George Square—an excellent way to get familiar with our space! We encourage everyone to use our space before volunteering in it.

Corporate volunteering

We're always amazed by how much one team can get done in a day. We regularly welcome corporate groups of up to 12 people who dedicate their time to help with the work that keeps Refuweegee going. What you'll do depends on what we need that day. You might help sort donations in the shop or spend some time chatting with our visitors. Sometimes the simplest things, like offering a hot drink and a chat, can make someone feel welcome. If your team would like to volunteer with us, get in touch with Lily, our Corporate Relations Coordinator, at volunteering@refuweegee.co.uk.

Local partners

Refuweegee started in Glasgow, and being a local weegie charity is a core part of who we are. We're lucky to have built strong relationships with people and organisations across the city.

We've worked with local schools and universities, community organisations, the NHS and other charities. We've also worked with people across Glasgow's creative and cultural communities, from musicians and photographers to artists and reporters. These relationships have helped us increase our visibility and build a strong community around our mission. Local businesses have also been crucial for our work. Some have supported us through donations or fundraising, while others have hosted donation drop off points. You can currently find donation drop-off points at Vanilla Ink and Glasgow Heritage Trust.

We're grateful to everyone who has shared our work or found a way to get involved. Glasgow is a city full of people who care about their community, and those connections are a huge part of what makes Refuweegee possible. If you're a local organisation or business and would like to work with us, we'd love to hear from you! Get in touch at enquiries@refuweegee.co.uk.
